Elmhurst School District 205 Superintendent Dr. David Moyer shares his vision for the District.  Doctor Dave discusses his Wisconsin heritage, his successful baseball coaching career, his love for Dylan (Bob, that is) and his passion for preparing the perfect Sheboygan brat.  Moyer bravely tackles the LowDown MowDown and eventually gets the answer to one difficult question correct!  You'll hear about the book he wrote, his talent for playing the drums and his concern for the mental health of today's students.

Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce and Industry President John Quigley discusses his 20 years at the helm of this organization celebrating 100 years of service to Elmhurst.  He shares stories of growing up, being educated and working in this town he loves. John explains how one of his mentors suggested he would be perfect for the Elmhurst Chamber's top job back in 1999.  Quigley takes on the MowDown and scores 42%...one of his best test scores...ever!  LowDown food critic Slappy Sal visits Mack's Golden Pheasant and describes his favorite 'sangwich'!

Elmhurst's Racing Ahlgrim Brothers are Dying to Share Their Story!

Elmhurst's Scott and Steve Ahlgrim tell us how they first became interested in amateur (and some professional) automobile racing.  They've raced all over the United States and participated in a version of the Cannonball Run for 'Charity' (???) 15 times.  They share stories of the family business started by their grandfather, now owned and operated by Brother Scott.  You'll learn what it was like living in a funeral home as a kid.  Both brothers take on the LowDown MowDown.  It turns out Brother Steve might have just had a crush on Rachel from 'Friends' and thinks he's married to her doppelganger!  And Scott informs us Steve is famous and actually has fans!  Listen in and enjoy their Elmhurst story.

Ron Gorski Shares Paul Harvey Stories

Elmhurst resident Ron Gorski shares stories of his exciting career in the world of television and radio, including a 30 year run as radio icon Paul Harvey's producer.  Ron tells the story of getting his start in the radio business while a student at "The Circle".  He also reveals he's an Emmy winner for work at a television station in St. Louis.  Ron "takes down" the MowDown and explains how he found his second career in the fitness industry.  A Slappy Sal classic review of Silverado Restaurant is re-run and a special treat, a previously unreleased recording by Mr. Paul Harvey, himself, is included as a special bonus!

York High Class of 1970 Friends Scott Bretl, Tom Marcucci and Bob Stolper Share Their Elmhurst Stories

Bob Stolper, Tom Marcucci and Scott Bretl have a friendship that has spanned six different decades.  All York Community High School Class of 1970 graduates, current Elmhurst residents, and successful in business and charity work, these gentlemen have not just seen Elmhurst develop into a premiere Chicago suburb.  These three men have each contributed to Elmhurst's success in their own way.  Even though these three friends are enjoying their seventh decade, they are still boys at heart, that love this town they all call home.  Listeners will even learn some unique holiday yard decorating tips!  PK shares the story of Elmhurst mayors, with a nod to one of this episode's guest's record 16 years at the helm of E-Town, in his latest 'One Ponce a Time'!

Great Things are Happening at the Elmhurst American Legion Post

Commander John Scudder and Sergeant at Arms Bill Shanklin share stories of the important services American Legion THB Post 187 provides local veterans and the Elmhurst community.  Scudder and Shanklin also discuss their personal backgrounds as well as stories of their service to our country.  Elmhurst American Legion Military Ball Chair Col. Mark Mallon tells us about this unique event, while Paul Mason and Mark Mulliner discuss the Cool Cars events hosted this summer at the Post.  Robbie learns his loyal service in the KISS Army doesn't qualify him for Legion membership, but finds he is always welcome to vist the Post, as are all members of the general public!

The First Couple of Elmhurst College Join the Low Down Crew

Dr. Troy Van Aken and Dr. Annette Van Aken share their story that leads to them becoming the first couple of Elmhurst College.  Dr. Troy shares his vision for the College's future and they help us get to know them on a personal level.  The doctors Van Aken take on the MowDown!  Slappy Sal visits Emperor's Kitchen and describes the delicious culinary creations they serve.
