Elmhurst Auto Dealer Dan Roesch Joins the LowDown

Elmhurst Auto Dealer Dan Roesch brings the LowDown crew to tears as he shares a very personal and inspirational story about his son's battle with Cystic Fibrosis.  Dan also discusses his business and growing up in Elmhurst.  He takes on the MowDown and shares the history of four generations of the Roesch family in the car business.  Yodeling Robbie interviews Elonnie Musk in Ben Allison Park.  LowDown food critic, Slappy Sal, tells us about his experience at Cilantro Grill.

The LowDown visits Elmhurst Brewing Company

The LowDown crew visits the Elmhurst Brewing Company with a fun bunch of "LowDown Loonies" and interviews founders and owners Frazer Donaldson and Pete Dolan.  Head Chef Jason Kurosaki and Brewmaster Cam Horn join the guys to share their passion for food and craft beer.  Frazer, Pete and Cam take on the MowDown.  PK introduces another edition of "One Ponce a Time", educating listeners on a bit of Elmhurst brewing history

Melissa and Angelo from BrewPoint Coffee Join the LowDown

BrewPoint Coffee founders and owners Melissa Villanueva and Angelo Sepulveda share their stories of life, inspiration and some perspiration that led them to create one of Elmhurst's newest and most successful small businesses.  Their small coffee shop has grown to three locations in Elmhurst, including E-town's first commercial coffee roastery.  You'll learn about this innovative business and the couple who followed their dreams and created this unique gathering place.  They take on the MowDown, while the LowDown crew stuggles with a few "sound" issues.  The LowDown's food critic, Slappy Sal shares his review of Jack's Silverado Grill. 

The Hon. Lee Daniels, former Illinois Speaker of the House, Joins the LowDown

The Honorable Lee Daniels, the only person to hold the office of Illinois Speaker of the House in the last 35 years other than Mike Madigan, visits with the LowDown crew.  Lee shares stories of growing up in Elmhurst, serving the people of Illinois in the General Assembly for over 30 years, and presiding over the State House as Speaker for 2 years.  He takes on the MowDown and shares stories of his family and his exciting life in politics, which include meeting several U.S. Presidents.  Lee also shares an inside story related to President Clinton's impeachment.  Rick climbs atop his heavily reinforced soapbox to warn the people of Elmhurst of a troubling new trend.

Mary Beth Harper, Elmhurst Public Library Director, Joins the LowDown

Elmhurst Public Library Director, Mary Beth Harper, shares the many unique services offered at Elmhurst's library.  She also tells her personal story and how her path to Director of this great institution was by no means conventional.  We learn some inside facts about Mary Beth as she takes on the LowDown MowDown.  She reveals her enjoyment of live music from bands of the 70's and 80's, and notes her fondness for the sounds of Springsteen.  LowDown food critic, Slappy Sal, relays his experience at Roberto's Ristorante.

Elmhurst ST. Patrick's Day Parade Chair Jim O'Connor Joins the LowDown

Jim O'Connor, the long-time chair of the Elmhurst St. Patrick's Day Parade, shares what it takes to put on one of the area's largest St. Patrick's Day parades.  He discusses the upcoming parade on March 10, 2018 and takes on the MowDown.  Slappy Sal, the LowDown's half-Italian food critic makes his first appearance, sharing his experience at Fresh Start Cafe with some of his buddies.  PK introduces another edition of his Elmhurst history series, "One Ponce a Time", with stories of the old Soukup's Hardware in downtown Elmhurst.  Indy 500 entertainment rejects, "The Nabors Boys", debut their version of "Back Home Again in Dear Ole' Elmhurst".

Elmhurst Independent Publisher Pete Cruger Joins the LowDown

Pete Cruger, publisher of the Elmhurst Independent, shares stories of growing up in Elmhurst, his family's former business (Press Publications), and the founding of the Independent Newspapers.  He takes on the MowDown, discusses his favorite vacation spot, and talks about his favorite hobby, water skiing.  Yodeling Robbie's cousin from across the Pond, Seamus, shares his thoughts on human behavior, in a somewhat disturbing report, as observed from an Elmhurst pub's "loo".

Elmhurst Funion Publisher Dave Noble Joins the LowDown

Dave Noble, publisher of the Elmhurst Funion, joins the LowDown.  He shares the history of the Funion, an Elmhurst based satirical news page and shares his passion for craft beer.  Noble takes on the LowDown MowDown and shares stories of growing up and working in Elmhurst.  Rick stands on his heavily reinforced soapbox.

Elmhurst Hospital CEO Pam Dunley Joins the LowDown

Pam Dunley, President and CEO of Elmhurst Memorial Hospital, shares stories of leading Elmhurst's largest employer and how her nursing background helps her understand this complex industry.  Pam explains the Planetree model of patient and family care, and shares her passion as a sports fan and of UFC fighting in particular.  Pam also takes on the MowDown!  PK debuts his segment, "One Ponce a Time".

Former White Hen Pantry CEO, Bob Robertson, Sr., Joins the LowDown

Bob Robertson, Sr. discusses his journey from a modest upbringing in the Chicago area to CEO of the Elmhurst headquartered White Hen Pantry.  You'll learn how a butcher at a local Jewel grocery store climbed the ranks, tooks some risks and eventually led a managment buyout of a major Jewel subsidiary. He shares how he and his team grew the business exponentially and eventually sold it when the time was right.  Robertson also shares some stories of raising his family in Elmhurst and takes on the LowDown MowDown!
